Licone will support color tagging

We’ve just added a new cool feature to Licone, our upcoming icon manager: you’ll be able to choose a color tag for any icon.

Let’s say you want to keep track of all your blue icons. Just tag them with the Blue Tag in contextual menu or system menu, then a small blue bullet will be added on the left side of icon name (you need to show icon names first). Now, create a search, and choose “Tag > Blue” as a criteria, and you’ll get all your tagged icons, no-matter what collection they belong to.

Licone is almost ready for final release. You can still sign-up for our Beta Test program here.

Creating folder icon with Licone

Our upcoming application Licone entered beta test few weeks ago. Today, we’d like to show you a nice feature that will be available in upcoming beta release (don’t forget to sign-up for our beta test program).

We’ve added an “Engrave” mode when you’re creating a custom folder icon. Just drop any image (better is a black & white PNG image), and check the “Engrave” box. Then, you’ll be able to create beautiful folder icon, similar to OS X default icon.

Licone is entering Beta

After several months of developement, we are proud to launch the offical Beta Test for our upcoming app. With Licone, you can create, customize, convert, organize and download icons. Beta Test is only opened to registered users: this is a full version, available both in English and French languages.

Licone is a powerful toolbox for all icons lovers. You’ll love creating customized icons for your folders, with just a few clicks. And if you don’t feel like an artist, don’t worry, just download icons from IconFinder.com directly from our app! Major features are:

  • Create shinny icons for your folders, by adding text or image
  • Convert your icons in many formats (ICO, PNG, ICNS, PDF, iContainer)
  • Customize any folder or app’s icon
